Reception program for the students who received SHANAD from the Bangladesh Bar Council as Advocates and Prize Giving Ceremony of Legal Quiz Competition

Reception program for the UAP students who received SHANAD from the Bangladesh Bar Council as Advocates and Prize Giving Ceremony of Legal Quiz Competition were held together on May 07, 2013 at the Department of Law and human rights, University of Asia Pacific. The Vice Chancellor of UAP Prof. Dr. Jamilur Reza Choudhury was present as the Chief Guest. The Head of the Department of L & HR Prof. Dr. Mir Shamsur Rahman presided over the ceremony and other Faculty members were also present.

Prof. Dr. Jamilur Reza Choudhury in his speech mentioned, "To become a successful lawyer one has to have the knowledge of different other disciplines as well." He inspired the students who are aspiring to be lawyers by saying that nowadays there are plenty of opportunities in both govt. and non govt. fields for the law students then there were in previous days. A student of Law may be eager to join government job, he may also choose to join corporate offices. The corporate offices and business organizations recruit law professionals; a law student has the opportunity to choose the profession of legal adviser of corporate bodies and individuals if he wants.

He emphasized on developing skills and experience to be a successful law. "An experienced lawyer along with his skills and aptitude can succeed no matter where he goes" he added.
He praised the success of the law students of UAP and encouraged them to be involved in academic studies and co-curricular activities. But while choosing to be involved in co-curricular activities he emphasized on being selective and choosing those fields where a student finds interest.
It is to be mentioned that among the 22 students of Department of L & HR of UAP 20 passed successfully in Bangladesh Bar Council Examination and received Shanad as advocates.
